Buddhist monastery from 7-8 th century

Bhasu Vihara is an ancient Buddhist archaeological site located in Shibganj Upazila of Bogura District, Bangladesh. Dating back to the 7th–12th centuries CE, it was an important center of Buddhist learning during the Pala period. Excavations have revealed the remains of a large monastery, brick structures, prayer halls, terracotta plaques, sculptures, and numerous artifacts, highlighting its religious and cultural significance. Today, Bhasu Vihara stands as one of northern Bangladesh's notable archaeological heritage sites, offering valuable insights into the region's rich Buddhist history and architectural traditions.
